This holiday residence was built in 1937 for the merchant Émile Levallois, a resident of Fort-de-France, to accommodate his family during their vacations.

Designed by the architect Gérard Michel Corbin and constructed by the contractor Dyonisius Santelli, in association with the builder Petrelluzzi, this reinforced concrete house in the modernist style features two small wings set at right angles and presents a symmetrical and well-ordered front façade, enhanced by a central porch.

The continuous overhangs, the projection of the original cement roof, and the circular porthole windows make this house a fine example of 1930s modernist architecture, influenced by the architect Ali Tur. [C.C.]
